FAQS

Some of our most frequently asked questions?!

What is a CRNA?

CRNAs are advanced practice nurses that administer anesthesia for various surgical and medical procedures.

Where do CRNAs work?

CRNAs work in hospitals, surgical centers, dentist offices, and medical facilities throughout the world. They also serve in the military.

How much do CRNAs make?

I went to an elementary school for Career Day and this was one of the most popular questions? I think adults want to know also but children have no shame in asking.

That answer ranges widely depending on what you do in anesthesia. Do you work calls, are you independent, 1099, how many hours do you work, are you per diem? The questions go on and on. Look online to gauge what CRNAs make in your area but remember there are numerous factors that affect salary.

What kind of student is a nurse anesthesia school looking for?

Schools look at your accomplishments in school and out. Volunteer work, awards, GPA, and publishing articles and books are just a few things that they look at. The more that sets you apart from other applicants the better the chance you may have. Grades and GRE scores are reviewed closely. Schools want you to not only excel in school but also flourish. Think about what separates you from the crowd.

Do students have to travel to go to CRNA school?

It definitely depends on what you want. Because this is your journey. I traveled to Florida to go to school and so did most of my class. Once I got admitted into anesthesia school I made my mind up that I would move it need be. There are over 100 CRNA schools throughout the US and PR. Not every state has a school and Pennsylvania and Florida has the most schools at this time. I did not want to wait years trying to get into a school that was close to my home when I could get into a school now. It’s completely up to the applicant. You may get into the school of your choice the first time. You never know until you try.
